Stop-the-Bleeding

Stop-the-Bleeding fundamentals for security professionals, government sector and maritime professionals.

An applied programme grounded in the international Trauma Care framework — according to the MARCH-protocol used by NATO military forces and Western Law Enforcement institutions. Defensive Driving Course

A driving license does not automatically make the holder a proper driver. The Latin America & Caribbean (LAC) region has its own set of rules, contributing to one of the highest traffic fatality rates in the world.
LAC ACADEMY · DEFENSIVE DRIVING

This course is designed to reduce road risks and goes beyond basic driving instruction. It is applicable both locally and internationally. Defensive driving means situational awareness, risk prevention, journey management planning, and knowing how to react to incidents or attacks.

Topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Vehicle inspection.
  • Flat tyre and basic roadside response.
  • Traffic risks.
  • Situational awareness.
  • Prevention, the so-called “bubble”.
  • Vehicle control and manoeuvres.
  • Journey management.
  • Reaction drills to incidents.

This course is based on a course created and successfully delivered by our consultants for the European Union Advisory Mission to Ukraine. It is now tailored to the specific Caribbean or LATAM environment in which the training is delivered.

Successfully completing the Defensive Driving Course is required and can be included in the booking process for this course. This course takes all of the taught subjects a step further.

With its roots in the Dutch Caribbean, LAC Consultancy is inspired by the lagoon of Lac Cay, Bonaire. It represents the transformation of the turbulent Caribbean ocean — home to both beauty and predators; the great unknown — into the calm, sheltered waters of the cay. This physical transition reflects our core purpose: creating stable, calm environments for our clients in this complex region of the world.

The Founder & Managing Consultant — Mike H.

LAC Consultancy was founded by a former senior close protection officer of the Dutch Royal and Diplomatic Security Service (DKDB). During a successful career in one of the Netherlands’ most high-level protective units, he was responsible for the safety of high-level principals in diverse and volatile theatres.

His assignments have encompassed the protection of members of the Royal Family, the Prime Minister, threatened politicians, diplomats and ambassadors, Heads of Missions, as well as journalists, lawyers, prosecutors and judges. Ranging from public domain security and investigative operations in European, Caribbean and LATAM environments, to complex diplomatic missions in the former Yugoslavia and high-threat operational deployments in wartime Ukraine.

Recognising the significant contrast between European security standards and the dynamic operational reality of the Caribbean and Latin American regions, he established LAC Consultancy. The objective: to bring uncompromised Western security standards to the region, adapted intelligently to local ground truths, cultures and jurisdictions.

Managing Consultant Digital Expertise — Tijl V.

LAC Consultancy’s digital expertise is led by a former Dutch National Police officer with more than fifteen years of experience in digital forensics, OSINT, operational security and covert operations. International experience includes missions for the European Union, the OSCE and the United Nations, including work in the Caribbean. Within LAC Consultancy, he applies structured European investigative and security methodologies to local operational realities across the Caribbean and Latin American region.
